"I am on the way to having more confidence in myself, and the people around me feel a certain sense of pride in my training. I would tell someone considering training at United Tai Chi to do it; it’s good for your health."

Yang Style Tai ChiYang style Tai Chi was founded by Yang Lu-ch’an, who studied under Ch’en Chang-hsing, who taught him Chen Style Tai Chi. He passed the art on to his second and third sons. The third son taught Yang Chengfu, who in turn modified the Yang Style by removing abrupt movements from the open hand form. Yang Chengfu also developed his own shortened version of the Yang Long Form in order to make it easier to teach to modern students who are busy with modern life.
The Yang Style Tai Chi forms have slow, steady, expansive and soft movements suitable for general practitioners. Correctly taught and practiced, the 108 movement form still retains much of its health and self-defence benefits (the original comprises over 300 movements). The program also includes instruction in Tai Chi Sword and Fan forms. |
